PROLEARN Business Models, Processes & MarketsBusiness Analysis: Economical approaches and common understanding of technology enhanced learningThis analysis will focus on the main players in technology enhanced learning (providers and user groups). Key issues to analyze will be education networks, institutional approaches to organizational development and strategy definition, integrated e-services for technology enhanced learning, eLearning as a component of future human capital management, cost-benefit analysis of e-services for technology enhanced learning and market relevance.The analysis will involve PROLEARN's industrial and associate participants in order to gather the required information from institutional providers, professional providers and eLearning users.Our final report will be available in January 2005. Business Analysis: Market organisation, structure and the relevant business driversA major objective for PROLEARN is giving a sound analysis of market trends, based on a realistic assessment of the current situation, and providing forecasts, for all actors involved in the market. It will include market enabling services such as the provision of financing and clearing services.This analysis will be carried out at the geographical market level, according to the maturity of each market and to its cultural environment, and will be subsequently aggregated at the European level, where it will be compared with data from external markets such as North America.Our final report will be available in January 2005. Report on business models for TEL providersThis task will focus on providing a report about common as well as unuseaul reference models for technology enhanced learning providers, both traditional players (e.g. higher education istitutions) as well as new entrants (e.g. corporate universities). We will present a comprehensive and cogent taxonomy of business models and determine the best practices for business development in the field.A first report will be available in January 2005, the final report in July 2005.Report on reference business processes for the introduction and execution of technology enhanced learning scenariosThis task will focus on reference models for European organisations deploying technology enhanced learning. It will address issues such as corporate learning strategy definitions, requirements analysis, integration processes, financing and allocation of funds (esp. HEI), definition of learning scenarios, knowledge transfer and corporate learning.Work package participants like DFKI, HUT and HEC have an important background on business process modeling and management which will help to carry out the joint research of partners.Our report will be available in January 2005. Expertise and recommendations for political stakeholdersPolitical stakeholders in Europe will be provided with clear recommendations and measuring tools, aiming at the development of the global European technology enhanced market, especially in competition with the North American offerings. PROLEARN will be involved in international co-operation and participate in the existing Transatlantic, EuroChina and EuroIndia initiatives. PROLEARN will also offer its expertise to local authorities, national governments and provide the tools to measure the socio-economic benefits of an increasingly dynamic and competitive technology enhanced learning industry for the individual citizen and society as a whole.Open Portal for TEL Business SolutionsThe PROLEARN portal for TEL Business Solution will display the reports, analysis and findings of work package 6. Also we will provide a space to support the move from PROLEARN research results and prototypes into market ready solutions.The portal will provide information about research results, prototypes and business models and will be open to any European organization or individual that/who is interested in the collaborative development of excellent eLearning products and services with the right business models, expertise and budget to enter the market and stay competitive.Find out more from June 2004 on! |
