Formal and Informal Learning: Whats the Difference?11. 09. 2007 It is now common to hear that informal learning “is all around us”, that 80% of what we learn is learnt that way but that we spend almost nothing on it. OK got all that. But we should now start to discuss how we should spend money on informal learning without making it formal learning like all the rest. Providing podcasts, blogs and wikis all sounds very exciting but what makes this work as learning and can you push these at people without making it all formal learning? And do we all have the time to do all the formal and the informal learning that are being devised for us now? Built in to the programme will be lots of time for discussion and interaction.
