Call for Papers for the 4th International Internet Education Conference - ICT-Learn 2005 Septebmer 6-8 2005

The ICT-Learn 2005 International Conference will feature the issues and the strategies provided by information and communication technology to promote teaching and learning in different aspects.
ICT-Learn 2005 provides a forum to explore the 21st century world of teaching and learning through the following streams:

• Distance education and the millennium development goals .
• Leadership and administrative issues and solutions
• The role of libraries in supporting e-learning.
• Research that provides empirical support for practice and policy
• Applications and demonstrations of replicable practice.

Conference concurrent sessions
Concurrent sessions will include individual presentations, panel discussions, poster sessions ,and demonstrations.

Conference workshops
Conference workshops provide the opportunity for participants to engage in interactive sessions focused on issues of ICT-Learn. Workshops fees will be announced in due time.

Language of submission
The Conference Program Committee welcomes proposals in Arabic or English. Abstracts should appear in the language of presentation. Simultaneous translation will be provided during keynote and plenary sessions.

Paper selection criteria
The Conference Program Committee will evaluate submissions on the basis of the following criteria:
• Relevance to the conference theme
• Contribution to research, pedagogy, policy, and/or practice
• Positioning of the content within the existing body of literature
• Clearly defined session outcomes
• Opportunities for participant engagement.

Papers must include (and in the following order)
• Contact information (name, title, organization, address, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail address)
• Presentation title, program stream.
• Type of session.
• Abstract (maximum 300 words).
• Objective(s) of presentation – what will participants learn?
• Targeted audience.
• recommended duration of the presentation
• Language of presentation
• Technical requirements
• Biographical sketch of each presenter (maximum of 75 words each) Conference research paper award and publication of papers in the Journal of Internet Education
Proposals for all streams will be adjudicated on the basis of the abstract submitted. However, those who wish to have a manuscript based on their presentation considered for the “ICT-Learn2005 Best Research Paper Award” and/or publication in the Journal should submit full papers to the Conference Registration Desk by the end of the first full conference day. Papers should be addressed to the attention of Dr. Mohamed Elazab, Editor, Journal of Internet Education. Papers being considered for the award and/or publication will be reviewed according to Journal policy. For further information, please visit the ICT-Learn website (www.distant-learning.net).

Deadline for submissions

June 30, 2005

Adjudication outcomes

Presenters will be advised of the status of submissions by the third week of July.
All presenters are required to register for the conference. Presenters are responsible for all travel and accommodation expenses.
