Workshop on new technologies in eLearning

The Department of Plant Design and Operation at the Berlin University of Technology in cooperation with the ARIADNE Foundation and the PROLEARN network of excellence kindly invites you to the workshop 'New Technologies in eLearning'.

The workshop takes place as a parallel event to Online Educa and the ARIADNE General Assembly on December 1, 2005 from 09.00-18.00 CET at the TU Berlin.

The topics of the Workshop deal with current trends and progresses of eLearning Technologies in higher and further education:


  • Implementation of LMS in educational institutions
  • Crosslinking of eLearning-related services
  • Federated search in distributed repositories
  • (Semi)automatic generation of metadata for learning ressources
  • (Semi)automatic De-/Composition of learning ressources
  • Information Visualisation
  • User Profiling

Well known speakers will outline the current state of the art, eg. Volker Zimmermann, CEO im-C AG, on reengenieering the learning content production process with on-demand authoring and Richard Huber, Chemistry Information Centre Berlin (FIZ Chemie), on semantic information retrieval in large knowledge spaces.
