PROLEARN Partner - ConsortiumThe consortium is bringing together scientific and technological leaders on the fields of technology, education and economy in Europe that cover the required expertise necessary for the network. The PROLEARN consortium is led by the PROLEARN Coordinator, the L3S Research Center (L3S, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Nejdl) that provides a strong background in innovative learning technologies while the PROLEARN Vice-Coordinator IWi/DFKI (Prof. Dr. Dr. mult. hc. August-Wilhelm Scheer) has a large experience in the field of business technologies. The synergy of the expertise of both partners ensures that all relevant aspects of PROLEARN in the field of professional learning w ill be pursued thoroughly and successfully. The PROLEARN consortium consists of leading research institutions from the different research areas necessary for advancing the state-of-the-art of professional learning. These leading research institutions cover the whole broad area of professional learning necessary to address in detail the issues of Personalized Adaptive Learning; Learning Objects, Metadata and Standards; Interactive media; Online experimentation; Brokerage Systems, LMS and Delivery; Business Models, Business Processes and Markets; Knowledge Work Management, and have the necessary background and experiences to make the bold visions of the PROLEARN Academy and PROLEARN Virtual Competence Centre a reality.
PROLEARN supports specifically gender mainstreaming and fosters the participation of female researchers within the different tasks. Furthermore, more than 210 companies and research institutions in Europe, the US and Canada have already expressed their interest in PROLEARN and their intention to integrate their ongoing research activities into PROLEARN and PROLEARN work packages, though they are not formally part ofthe PROLEARN consortium. PROLEARN integrates these and further interested parties using the instrument of the associated partnership, which enables organisations to become part of the success of PROLEARN but still chosing their depth level of integration. |
